A Safe Place to Work Out The Stuff of Life
Everyone is Dealing with Something...
We live in a broken world full of temptation, hurts, and countless opportunities to just "tune out." As a result, we have created unhealthy ways of handling the peaks and valleys of life.
If
you are trying to cover up the pain in your life, but it leads to more emptiness and suffering, maybe it's time to consider a different path.
Celebrate Recovery exists as a safe place to share your story, where you're accepted just as you are, without judgment or bias. Your
past and struggles don't define you here; they are merely stepping stones
to a brighter more resilient future free from your hurts, habits, and hangups.
You Are Not Alone!
Join us on a Journey of healing, hope, and spiritual growth every Thursday at 6:00 pm in Celebrate Recovery at Journey Church.
Our purpose is simple yet profound: to come together in the warmth of fellowship sharing a meal in celebration of the incredible healing power of God in our lives.
With the guiding principals of the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principals, we pave the way for a brighter future, free from the shackles of our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors.
Through sharing our stories and diligently applying timeless Biblical principles, we start to witness a spiritual transformation within ourselves that leads to the always loving and forgiving Higher Power that is Jesus Christ.
What to Expect
Stepping into our community as a fellow traveler on the broken path of hurts, hangups and habits, expect a genuine heartfelt welcome to a warm and inviting atmosphere, because we all remember what it was like to walk through those doors for the first time ready for change.
After you have been greeted, we invite you to join us for an informal buffet style meal. (While food is not the main reason for coming, we really do enjoy some great dishes from the cooks in our community! And to make sure all of our bases are covered there is usually some pizza, hoagies and Chick-fila.)
After about 45 minutes, we transition to a new space for prayer and worship. The opening prayer is led by one of us and then we find inspiration as we enjoy worship songs using videos with lyrics to help anyone who wants to sing along. But don't worry, you can also listen and join in quietly as you feel called.
Worship is followed by our Celebrating Chip Time. As a support and encouragement, chips of different colors are given, indicating the amount of time you have lived with victory in the area of your life you most struggle with.
When
you identify an area you want to give to the Lord to set you free from
you will be given a Blue Chip to represent the start of your journey to
recovery. We celebrate with each other and The Lord’s victories in our
lives with clapping and cheering .
On alternating weeks, we have teaching through the Recovery Steps or listening to a testimony. The teaching and the testimonies may be live or are often via YouTube. They are available for your personal use anytime on YouTube.
This time is followed by reciting the Serenity Prayer led by one of us. If you are willing, you can participate in leading in prayer and reciting the Beatitudes and Serenity Prayer.
After our time together we divide into groups of men and women where you are totally free to share your heart and life from week to week. What is said in the group, stays in the group. We are not here to fix you. We are here to walk together in the Lord’s amazing grace of healing and setting hearts free.
Come And join us and we will grow in the Lord’s grace and victories together.
The key is to KEEP COMING BACK!
At Our Core
At the heart of our recovery journey lies a foundation built upon timeless and transformative biblical principles.
Grounded in the wisdom of scripture, we believe in the power of faith, grace, and redemption to guide us through the challenges of life. These core principles serve as our compass, offering profound insights and spiritual guidance as we navigate the path to healing and restoration.
Embracing the teachings of the Bible, we find strength, solace, and enduring hope that form the bedrock of our transformative recovery process.

Recovery" section, offers our 8 Core Principles based on the Beatitudes found in Matthew. The "Faithful Steps" tab, you can delve into the

and that my life is unmanageable. (Step 1)

to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.
(Steps 6 and 7)

Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to
those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when
possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and
9)
“Happy are the merciful.” Matthew 5:7a TEV; “Happy are the peacemakers” Matthew 5:9 TEV

Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life
and to gain the power to follow His will. (Steps 10 and 11)
Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words. (Step 12)

A Biblical Journey Through
the 12 Steps
With each Step, we draw strength from the timeless wisdom of the Bible, finding assurance that even in the depths of despair, there is a path to redemption. We walk this Journey within the love of Christ, reminded that hope is not a distant promise; it is an ever present reality, a beacon leading us toward the healing of God's Promise and the of grace of a brighter future.
We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behavior and that our lives had become unmanageable.
"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out."
Romans 7:18 NIVWe have come to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
"For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to HIS good purpose."
Philippians 2:12 NIVWe have made a decision to turn our life and our will over to the care of God.
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's Mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of worship."
Romans 12:1 NIVWe have made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord."
Lamentations 3:40 NIVWe have admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs.
"Therefore confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other, so that you may be healed."
James 5:16 NIVWe're entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up."
James 4:10 NIVWe humbly ask Him to remove all our shortcomings.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:19 NIVWe made a list of all persons we had harmed and become willing to make amends to them all.
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."
Luke 6:31 NIVWe made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift."
Matthew 5:23-24 NIVWe continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
"So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!"
1 Corinthians 10:12 NIVWe have sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and power to carry that out.
"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly"
Colossians 3:16 NIVHaving had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and practice these principles in all our affairs.
"Brothers and Sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you may also be tempted."
